FAB

FAB (short for French-American-British) is the term used by doctors for certain types of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).


Faeces

Faeces, commonly called 'poo', are the normally solid brown lumps that you pass when going to the toilet.


Fatigue

Fatigue, a feeling of tiredness or weakness. Sometimes cancer or its treatment can bring about fatigue. Occasionally people may be so fatigued, they find it difficult to concentrate and need to seek help from a nurse or doctor.


Fats

Fats are one of the three major food sources, needed by the body for energy. They are found in everyday food such as meat, fish and dairy products. The other two major food sources are carbohydrates and proteins.

Fibrosarcoma (pronounced fibro sah coma) is a type of soft tissue sarcoma, a form of cancer, normally affecting teenagers. It is found in tissue that joins parts of the body together.

Fine Needle Aspiration

Fine Needle Aspiration or Needle Aspiration or Needle Biopsy is a procedure where a fine, very thin needle is used to take a few cells from someone's body for testing. A local anaesthetic is used, so no pain is felt.
