Kaposi's Sarcoma

Kaposi's Sarcoma is a cancer of the endothelial cells lining the walls of blood vessels. Kaposi's sarcoma is often, though not always, found with people who are HIV positive. With this type of cancer, lesions develop in places such as the skin, internal organs such as the liver or lungs, in the mouth and on the lymph nodes.

Keratinocytes

Keratinocytes are a type of flat skin cell that cover the outer layer of the skin. They are also known as squamous cells. Keratinocytes cancers are some of the most common forms of cancer. Keratinocytes are found in the skin and also the membranes that line some body cavities, such as the airways in the lungs.

Keyhole Surgery

Keyhole Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery or Pinhole Surgery is where operations are now performed through small cuts or incisions (usually 0.5 to 1.5cm longer), rather than the larger incisions used in the past.

Kidney Function Tests

Kidney Function Tests are blood tests that doctors often take to see how well the kidneys are working or functioning.

Kidneys

The body has two kidneys, one on the left and one on the right hand side of the body just above the waist. The job or function of the kidneys is to filter out waste products from the blood and make urine, commonly called wee.
