Quality of Life

Quality of Life refers to an individual's overall enjoyment of life. It is about someone's level of comfort or enjoyment, and their ability to pursue daily activities. In research it means looking at how a treatment could affect someone's life. It can include the effect of treatment on symptoms or side effects and could help decide whether certain drugs, procedures or treatments are given. Many clinical trials measure aspects of a patient's sense of well-being and their ability to perform various tasks to assess the effects that cancer and its treatment have on the patient.
